Once the site is live, will be linked to Google Analytics account... or not, as you wish.
Files
It is good practice to name your files with an appropriate naming convention, understandable to your website visitors.
NOTE: when a file such as a PDF, Word document, Excel sheet, etc. is inserted in your page content, the entire filename is inserted automatically. For that reason, it is good practice to remove the file extension (.pdf, .docx, etc.) when you upload the file to the Media centre.
To rename a file in the Media centre
- View the folder that contains the file
- Mouse over the file and click to edit
- Select the Properties folder and rename/remove the file extension in the Name field.
- Click Save to save the changes.
Note that you can make this change after the file has been inserted in a webpage(s) and its name will be updated in that webpage(s).
To insert a file in a webpage
In the Content tab of the page, pull down the Add a pagepart dropdown menu and select File or Download. Select the file by clicking Choose and navigate to the file preloaded in the Media centre. Complete all the fields you wish. Choosing the file is required. All others fields are optional.
Headings
Can be inserted in your webpage in 2 different ways:
- Within a textbox.
- As a heading page part.
NOTE: Either way, they look the same but if you wish to insert a Table of Contents (TOC) the headings must be inserted as a heading page part and be assigned Heading 2.
How to insert a Table of Contents (TOC)
- Inserted all headings through the heading page part and be assigned it level Heading 2.
- At top of page content or above the first heading to be included in the TOC, pull down the Add a pagepart dropdown menu and select TOC.
- The Table of Contents automatically pulls all heading 2 paragraphs and turns them into hyperlinks.
The TOC is indicated in the CMS only as the TOC page part. The completed TOC is displayed only on the public webpage.
Collapsible Heading
(optional page part)
Collapsible heading are inserted through the Collapsible heading page part and all parts inserted below are collapsed until next collapsible heading. On the public display a plus sign (+) is inserted so that content can be alternately displayed/collapsed.
Images
Can be inserted in your webpage in 2 different ways:
- As an inline image: within a textbox. You can size the image and set the text to wrap around it
- As a image page part: designed to take the entire width of the page content, your image needs to be large and good quality.
Either way, the image must be preloaded in the Media centre.
Inline image
Insert cursor in text (preferably at the beginning of paragraph or in its own paragraph) within a text box and click the Image icon, then:
- Click Browse server and navigate to image in Media centre to select it. Image is inserted into Preview box
- With Width and Height locked to maintain ratio, size in pixels by entering only one of the dimensions (Width and Height), the other will be calculated automatically to preserve the ratio.
- Alternative text is for assisted readers, it is good practice to briefly describe image
- Select Alignment or leave blank to allow the image to float.
- Optional link and target: switch to Link tab and complete fields for the image to act as a link and open (or not) in a new tab/window
- Click OK and Save page.
Image page part
In the Content tab of the page, pull down the Add a pagepart dropdown menu and select Image.
Complete all the fields you wish. The URL and Link text are required. All others are optional.
Image gallery
The image gallery gets inserted in the same way as the Image page part and permits you to present several images for your visitors to click through without having to scroll. Simply add as many images you wish. The description field displays as the image caption.
Links
Can be inserted in your webpage in 2 different ways:
- As an inline link: text serves as a hyperlink
- As a link page part: designed to take more space and attract more attention, this method permits you to insert a thumbnail, often a logo
Inline link
Select text within a text box and click the Link icon, then select the type:
- URL
- That points to page within website -> Browser server -> select target page
- That point to outside webpage:
- copy/paste the entire URL, the protocol field will update accordingly
- Switch to Target tab and select New Window (_blank). When the word is clicked, the target page will open in new tab/window so your visitor doesn’t leave your website inadvertently.
- Click OK and Save page
- EMAIL
- Enter complete email address
- Message Subject & Message Body are optional fields: text entered there is pre-filled for your website visitors.
- ANCHOR
- Step 1: insert cursor where you want the target anchor to be, click Anchor icon (flag) and enter name of anchor. A red flag is inserted which serves as an indicator in the cms but does not display on the public webpage.
- Step 2: select text in same textbox which will act as link to anchor placed in step 1. Click Link icon and select Link to anchor in text in Link Type field. Select anchor by its name in the list of available anchors.
If you wish to link to an anchor which is outside the same textbox or in another page, simply select the text that serves as the link, click the Link icon, select URL and in the URL field, enter the URL for the target page followed by #anchorname (substitute anchorname by the name of the anchor you have previously inserted in the target page). Remember to Save page.
Link page part
In the Content tab of the page, pull down the Add a pagepart dropdown menu and select Link.
Complete all the fields you wish. The URL and Link text are required. All others are optional.
Media
Any content other than text must be uploaded to the Media centre before you can add it in the website pages’ content. Access the Media centre from the Menu at top (in black band): go to Media.
- Create your folder structure with folders and subfolders, and organize your files as you would organize them in your own computer.
- You can decide to keep all images in one folder, all files in one, all videos...etc. In that case, select the type of folder when you create & name your folder and the appropriate icon will indicate what type of folder it is.
- If you place all type of content within your folder, select Media as folder type and the file icon will be assigned.
To upload:
- Single upload: simply drag & drop or select Add media
- Bulk upload: view the target folder, and
- select a group of files on your computer and drag/drop them in the centre of that folder, OR
- Select Add media -> Bulk upload and follow the directives
Pages
Access your website pages from the Menu at top (in black band): go to Pages.
The website structure is shown in the left column. The page content is displayed to the right of that.

When working with a page content, you can collapse the left column by clicking on the toggle sidebar icon (image at left) located at the top of the page, just below the top menu in black band.
To re-order the webpages: with the the left column visible, simply drag & drop the pages in that column. The reordering is immediate, no need to save.
To add a page
- Select parent page to view it. This could be Home if you are adding a main menu page
- Click More and select Add subpage
- Enter page title and select page Type
- Click Add

Page is added and you are now viewing the Content tab of the new page. In the left column, the page is added to the menu and is unpublished as indicated by its icon. (broken link).
Content tab
This is where you add the page content.
Menu tab
- If you rename the page, be sure to reset the Slug field to update it.
- Control the order of your pages through the Weight field. You can also drag the pages in the order you wish in the left column.
SEO tab
For search engine optimisation, use the Meta title and Meta description fields.
For more directives, refer to Google recommendations to facilitate the indexation of your website with Google and other search engines which you can download for ease of reference.
What you can do when viewing a page

To preview a page
Click on the Preview button, a new tab opens in your browser where you can check your work. This is helpful if you page isn’t published yet. In the case that it isn’t published, some of the menu and other navigation elements might not be displayed.
To publish a page
You must Publish the page (More -> Publish) in order for it to be displayed in your website.
To duplicate a page
Click on More -> Duplicate. The system asks you for a name and creates the page, unpublished in the website menu. Simply drag it to where you wish it to be or change any of its elements by viewing it and making any needed changes through the tabs, as described above (Content, Menu and SEO tabs).
To delete a page
Click on More -> Delete. A window pops up asking you to confirm the deletion.
To save a draft
You can make changes to a page content and save it as a draft for future publishing. When ready, you can select which version you wish to publish by clicking on the Versions button.
Special Pages (News and Calendar Events Modules)
Because the latest News and/or Calendar Events are often pulled automatically and displayed on the homepage on in a sidebar, they are treated differently through a Module. There are 2 steps:
- Step 1: add the page (News or Events) in your website menu in the same way you add a regular page but select the appropriate page type (News or Events). Optionally you can to insert a introduction in your page content, it will be displayed at the top of the News/ Events pages.
- Step 2: add all content (News or Event items) through the Menu at top (in black band): go to Settings -> Modules -> News or Events. Click Add New (News or Events) and fill fields.
Page parts
In the Content tab of the page, pull down the Add a pagepart dropdown menu and select from the list (listed alphabetically). Complete the fields and Save the page.

To re-order page parts within the content of a page: simply drag each page part by grabbing the icon (see image at left) located at top left of each page part and dropping in new spot. Remember to Save the page.
Person
(optional page part)
Used to attractively display a list of personnel, board members, etc. Can include the following fields:
- Name
- Email
- Phone
- Position
- Biography
- Image
To insert:
In the Content tab of the page, pull down the Add a pagepart dropdown menu and select Person.
Complete all the fields you wish. The Name field is required. All others are optional.
Slides
Although the powerpoint presentations must be uploaded to Slideshare, the presentations inserted in your webpages following the directives below play directly in your webpage rather than force your visitors to download the presentation.
NOTE:
- Step 1: your slide presentation must be uploaded to Slideshare
- Step 2: next you must add the link to the presentation (preloaded to Slideshare) in the media centre (in step 1) before you can insert it within your webpages. See To add slide presentation to the media centre below.
- Step 3: insert the presentation in the webpage content by inserting the Slide page part and selecting the presentation you have already added to the Media centre (in step 2). See To add slide presentation to a webpage below.
To add slide presentation to the media centre
- select Add media -> Add Slide
- Enter name in Name field
- In Code field, copy the part after the equal sign (=) from the WordPress Shortcode in the Share button when viewing the presentation in Slideshare.
- Select the correct video type in the Type field (slideshare is the only option at present)
- The Copyright and Description fields are for your own use, they are not displayed on the webpage(s) where you will insert this presentation.
To insert slide presentation to a webpage
- View page to which you want to add the presentation
- Click Add a pagepart where you want it inserted
- Select Slide from the dropdown list
- Click Choose, the system takes you to the media centre, navigate to the presentation and select it.
- Save the page
Text Editor

NOTE: Standard word processing, hover your mouse until tooltip appears to describe tool.
- To maximize window (at top) or resize it by pulling down (at bottom)
- To apply character formatting
- Click to pull list of available style options, depends on what is selected
- To apply preset paragraph formatting such as heading 1, 1, 3… etc.
- To apply paragraph formatting
- To apply list formatting (bulleted or numbered)
- To apply paragraph indents or quote formatting
- To insert inline link, remove it or insert/edit anchor
- To insert image, table or special character
- To work with your text (hover your mouse until tooltip appears to describe tool)
- Paste as plain text: use when copy/pasting text from existing document or webpage. It strips all unnecessary code and formatting of incoming text
- Paste from Word: use when copy/pasting text from existing Word document. It strips all unnecessary code but not character formatting of incoming text
- To view HTML code. Use only if you understand HTML.
Users
- In Menu at top (in black band): go to Settings -> Users
- Remember to assign a permission group, the only applicable groups are Administrator and Super Administrator.
- Admin interface language changes only the language for the display in the cms such as the field labels, etc., not the content.
Videos
Although the videos must be uploaded elsewhere on the internet (YouTube, Vimeo or DailyMotion), The videos inserted in your webpages following the directives below play directly in your webpage rather than take your visitors elsewhere.
NOTE:
- Step 1: your videos must be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo or DailyMotion
- Step 2: next you must add the link to the video (preloaded to YouTube, Vimeo or DailyMotion) in the media centre (in step 1)before you can insert it within your webpages. See To add video to the media centre below.
- Step 3: insert the video in the webpage content by inserting the Video page part and selecting the video you have already added to the Media centre (in step 2). See To add video to a webpage below.
To add video to the media centre
- select Add media -> Add Video
- Enter name in Name field
- In Code field, copy the part after the equal sign (=) from the URL or share code in YouTube or Vimeo.
- Select the correct video type in the Type field (where that video has been uploaded)
- The Copyright and Description fields are for your own use, they are not displayed on the webpage(s) where you will insert this video.
To add video to a webpage
- View page to which you want to add the video
- Click Add a pagepart where you want it inserted
- Select Video from the dropdown list
- Click Choose, the system takes you to the media centre, navigate to the video and select it.
- Save the page
Miscellaneous
Some page parts are so simple, they require no special directives, they are:
- Line, insert as needed
- To Top, insert as needed
Redirects
You can add a redirect in order to significantly shorten a URL, for example websiteaddress.com/subpage/subsubpage could be shortened to websiteaddress.com/oneword
To insert a redirect:
- In Menu at top (in black band): go to Settings -> Redirects
- Click Add New Redirect
- In Origin field, enter the URL you want to redirect, this is the shortened URL
- In Target field, enter the URL of the destination page, this should be the long URL
- DO NOT CHECK the Permanent checkbox and click Save
Remember...
Be sure to Save your page before leaving unless you do not want to keep your changes.
If you exit or click to view another page after making changes to a page but not saving the page, the system will ask you if you are sure you want to leave the page.
